Fat You Have to Eat It to Lose It

Fat You Have to Eat It to Lose It

Day 16 of 100

Hey everybody! How are you? Its Friday night. I just got home, just finished dinner. And before I relaxed for the night, I wanted to come on and do day 16. The continuing story of my weight loss journey. So, you guys, as you come on, go ahead and drop me a heart. Give me a thumbs up or just say hi.

For those of you that don’t know me. My name is Carla Gardiner. I’m known as the Fiery Grandma because I work from home leading women to have more fun, learning how to gain the confidence to look good, feel good and do good while updating their outdated wardrobe using $5 jewelry. If you are 50 or over and just need to get out that rocking chair and have more fun, come on along. If you’re under 50 and you need a mentor, I have 20 years’ experience in networking. I can show you how to make money while learning how to accessorize.  Yep, I’m your girl because I know how to have fun and build a business at the same time.

This video is about the next step in my weight loss journey. Really quick let’s recap. First, I started drinking this cool weight-loss coffee; but I call it my feel-good coffee. It got me mentally prepared to make a decision. The second step was to make a decision. I wanted this to be the last time I battled this battle or whatever you call it. The next step after making my decision was to eliminate all sugar, all processed foods, fruits, cheese. Now I eat berries and nuts, meat, all veggies, healthy fats including coconut oil, MCT oil, real butter, cream cheese, cottage cheese, whole fat not skimmed milk, heavy whipping cream. I drink bullet coffee. Now everything in moderation, right? But, I gained on 50 lbs. Gone. Gone. Yay! It should be a thumbs up, right? Do you guys want to see Sophie? Check this out. Say HI.

Anyway, so back to the weight loss story, right? Yesterday’s video we went over what to be prepared for. The detox, right? So, when learning how to eat this way, it truly has been a journey. I don’t know about you but I’ve always been taught low-fat this, low-fat that and we’re supposed to lose weight. Well, the truth is actually backward. Your body needs fat to process energy for your body and it’s good for you. BUT, it’s all about eating the right kind of fat. So, when I say I threw out processed food, I really mean it, you guys. Nothing in a box. I cook everything. Meat and veggies, either barbecued, grilled, boiled or fried. Put a pat of butter on it with salt and pepper. Know what I discovered? Food tastes really good when you get rid all of the junk like preservatives that’s in all that garbage that we’ve been eating for years.

The next thing that I faced, smack in the face, came nose to nose with it, was the opposition from everybody including my husband, my kids, and friends.

It all started with hubby. “I’m not cooking that way and I’m not going to eat that way”.

To which I replied, “Okay, It’s okay. I didn’t ask you to but I’m going to”.

Next, I don’t eat anything, nothing after 6:30 pm. My body then has time to digest what I put in it before I go to bed. If I think I’m hungry or I want a snack, I drink water. In addition, I increased my water intake to a gallon a day and at first, I thought, I was going to die, literally. But now, I’ve got I think 16 oz to go and I’m done for the day. Being out at convention all day could have stumbled me. So, I don’t want to hear an excuse that I can’t do a gallon of water. Oh, yes you can. I drink like 5 16.9oz bottles of water while I was in the convention. It’s really easy. Just sip on it all day.

Now that I’m taking this weight off, I started reaching out for nutritional coaching. I wanted to know “Am I balancing things, right?” and I wasn’t. I was eating too many fats which kept me full and I wasn’t eating enough calories. Sounds weird, right? Plus eventually too much fat even good fat is not heart-healthy. I don’t want heart issues. I was taught that healthy fat is what keeps you full and it does. But women especially need more protein than guys do. Because I was feeling kind of weak and I have these symptoms, my legs ached. I could tell something wasn’t right. So, I was referred to this nutritional therapist who tweaked some of my nutritional supplements and taught me how to plate my food and what it should look like. (the assessment is free, click here to contact me for more info) Making ever so slight minor changes, what a huge difference. Within days, I started feeling awesome again. And I’m back losing weight.

So, in the next video, we will talk about this Instapot challenge that I’ve been doing. I can’t go into it. No more dieting guys. This is a lifestyle choice. I had a friend ask me today, “When you are done dieting, you know you’ll put it back on” No, I won’t. Why would I put it back on? Because oh man, my phone is going to die. I am not going to put the weight back on because I’m not changing how I’m eating. I’m not going to add sugar or processed foods back into my diet. I will only shop the perimeter of the grocery stores. We don’t even go in the middle aisles anymore at all. Not at all. So, I will share that resource with you guys tomorrow.

But before my phone totally dies and I lose this video, I am going to say Goodbye. I’ve got convention 2 more days. So, I won’t be here during the day but I’ll try to pop on it lunchtime, maybe.
